Obituary - Nabil Hassan Said Toussoun

The Mohamed Ali and Chireen families announce with deep sadness their loss of the Nabil Hassan Toussoun son of the late Prince Said Toussoun and the late Princess Mahvesh Chireen.


The Nabil Hassan Toussoun was born in Cairo on 15 December 1940 and succumbed to pneumonia related to Alzheimer's disease which he endured for the last five years of his life.


He attended the Institut du Rosey in Rolle, Switzerland.

He pursued life long private studies of Egyptian military history, in particular that related to the campaigns of Ibrahim Pacha. In doing so he achieved a working knowledge of Ottoman Turkish.

Many will remember his quick witted and sharp good humour, his skills on percussion instruments and his outstanding culinary talents.


He is survived by his wife the Nabila Irama Andreina Herrera de Toussoun born in 0Caracas, Venezuela on 10 November 1947, their two sons the Nabil Selim Toussoun born in New York city on 4 December 1984 and the Nabil Farid Toussoun born in Caracas on 21 June 1988, his older brother Prince Hussein Toussoun, his sister the Nabila Nesrine Toussoun and his half brother the Nabil Aziz Toussoun.


Funeral arrangements are being made at Harrow road cemetery, London, United Kingdom.
